Department of Computer Science established in the year 2001. Computer Science is the study of computations and information. Computation is defined as any type of calculations or use of computing technology that following well-defined models (such as algorithms and protocols) and the term information refers to which is enclosed in bits and bytes in computer memory. The study of computer science involves systematically studying methodical processes (such as algorithms) in order to aid the acquisition, representation, processing, storage, communication of, and access to information. Undergraduate applicants for computer science degrees will not usually be expected to have formally studied computer science, it is recommended that you pick up a programming language, to gain an understanding of what is involved. As per Karnataka University Dharwad, our institution offer joint courses, in which computer science is studied alongside subjects such as mathematics, and physics. Currently, our department has 2 faculty members and over 120 students studying towards their bachelor’s degree.
