DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY Department of botany established in 1972. Initially the department was started as biology Prof. G S Kulkarni was the Head of the Department later the Department was bifurcated into Botany and Zoology. Botany Department was started with Prof. F B Bankar as first HOD, later Prof. K. H. Doddayenkannana become the department head, followed by present HOD Prof. Choodamani .C. and with one staff Prof. T. G. Malammanavr. The botany was the study of plants and its life cycles as a life science it always in demand. The head for botanist and trained in botany will continue to grow in the future demand for botanists exceeds supply businesses industry research are also looking for botanist. It creates a job for all botany graduates
